Dr David Kennedy is an independent researcher specialising in history and football studies. David received his PhD at Leeds University in 2003 researching the origins of the emergence of
Everton FC and Liverpool FC, as a result of a major boardroom split within Everton FC in 1892. A revised version of his PhD appeared as a special issue of the international journal, Soccer and Society.
