James Reade is a Lecturer in the Department of Economics at the University of Birmingham and has been since 2009. He gained his DPhil (PhD) from the University of Oxford in 2007 under the

supervision of David F. Hendry, and then spent two years on a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship before moving to Birmingham. His research is becoming more and more sport, and football, dominated, with recent forays into implicit discrimination and market efficiency. He is a long suffering supporter of Oldham Athletic.
